The Gernsbach Old Town Festival (‘Gernsbacher Altstadtfest’) is traditionally held on the third weekend in September and attracts large numbers of visitors to the narrow streets and alleys of the delightful old town. Many old town cellars are then open to the public, local handicrafts are displayed, concerts and dance performances take place and all sorts of delicious food and drink are available. The climax of the festival is the spectacular riverside firework display.
